Domo
Domo bundles ETL, data storage, and BI into one platform. You connect source systems, transform data with Domo's ETL tools, and build dashboards on Domo's cloud data warehouse. The trade-off: it is more expensive than standalone BI tools, and you are locked into Domo's ecosystem. It makes sense for orgs without an existing data warehouse, but if you already have Snowflake or BigQuery, Domo adds unnecessary cost.
Official site ↗Why it ranks here
- All-in-one platform reduces vendor sprawl: one contract, one support team, one login.
- Strong connector library for GTM tools (Salesforce, HubSpot, Google Ads, etc.) with pre-built ETL.
- Fast time-to-value for orgs without a data warehouse: connect sources, transform in Domo, and start building dashboards.
Where it sits
- More expensive than Tableau, Looker, or Omni when you already have a warehouse and ETL.
- Easier setup than building a full data stack (warehouse + dbt + BI), but higher long-term cost and lock-in.
- Behind modern warehouse-native tools (Omni, Sigma) in flexibility; Domo's warehouse is a black box.
How GTM Operations teams use it
- Small GTM teams use Domo to centralize Salesforce, HubSpot, and ad platform data without hiring a data engineer.
- Marketing ROI dashboards that combine ad spend, web analytics, and CRM data using Domo's pre-built connectors.
- Executive scorecards with data from multiple systems, transformed in Domo's ETL layer and visualized in Domo dashboards.
- Mobile-first dashboards for field sales teams using Domo's mobile app.
In-depth notes
- Pricing is per-user or per-data-volume. Expect annual per-user costs; total cost can exceed standalone BI tools quickly.
- ETL layer is visual and no-code, which is accessible but less flexible than dbt or Python-based pipelines.
- Cloud data warehouse is included, but you cannot query it directly; all access is through Domo's interface.
- Vendor lock-in: if you want to switch to a different BI tool or warehouse, you need to rebuild your ETL and data models.
- Good fit for small GTM orgs (under 50 people) without a data stack. If you already have Snowflake or BigQuery, skip Domo and use a warehouse-native BI tool.
Best for
Small orgs without a data warehouse that want an all-in-one platform, or teams that prioritize vendor consolidation over flexibility.
Avoid if
You already have a cloud warehouse (use Looker, Omni, or Sigma), or you want top-tier BI without ETL lock-in (use Tableau or Mode).

Learning guide
Setup
Connect Domo to source systems like Salesforce and HubSpot using pre-built connectors. Transform data in the ETL layer with visual flows, then build dashboards on the Domo data warehouse.
First thing to build
Connect Salesforce opportunities, transform stage and close date fields in Domo ETL, and build a pipeline dashboard with bar charts and tables. Publish to Domo mobile app for field sales.
What actually matters
- Use pre-built connectors for GTM tools to avoid custom API work
- Schedule connector refreshes to keep data current
- Build reusable data flows to centralize transformations
- Set user permissions at the dataset and card level for security
Watch out
Vendor lock-in means switching to another BI tool or warehouse later requires rebuilding all ETL and dashboards.
